Fats

All fats are bad right? Wrong. In fact, many fats have many positive effects on your health. One of the major problems with fats today is the processing that goes into them before we eat them. For example, when you drive down country roads and you see the cows grazing in the pastures, you think that they are taken directly from the field and then slaughtered right? Wrong again... Ever heard of feeding lots? Where cows are fed anything but grass (usually corn and grains) for a while before they are killed. Within in 3 days of eating this diet, those cows loose most of the essential fatty acids that our ancestors use to get from eating meat. Those omega 3 fatty acids are actually really health-promoting. Unfortunately, the crazy diet the cows are forced to eat in their last days of life actually turns most of their healthy-good-fat into saturated fats. This where the problems begins. Today, people eat more omega 6's than omega 3's. This results in promotion of inflammatory pathways that result in problems like arthritis, CVD, cancer, allergies... this list goes on.
